Elbow and arm pain is dependent on the area and structures that have been irritated and influenced causing the brain to fire nociception to specific areas of your elbow and arm. Elbow and arm pain can be broken down into 5 simple reasons:
Our Physical Therapy the doctor will begin with a comprehensive examination- which will address the onset, cause, duration, severity, vectors, establish the meaningful task and functional tasks that cause the elbow and arm pain. At this point the cause of the shoulder pain will be determined; however diagnostic MRI is required in severe cases.
At MPT&Rehab we have extensive experience treating elbow and arm pain. Based on a functional evaluation we create an individual treatment plan. Treatment options may vary depending on type and stage of the elbow and arm pain and the structures and muscles and joints involved. The treatment will restore alignment, mobility and improve the stability to elbow and arm. The pain will be addressed by correctly releasing the specific tissue and fascia to increase and improve motion- which will elongate myofascial tissue and lengthen ligaments and muscle to reduce tension. Treatment will be a combination of manual therapy, and physical therapy exercises. We use our expertise in manual medicine and rehabilitation to retrain the elbow- to help re-establish cortical understanding of the functional correct movement pattern. The rehabilitation program will be aimed at eliminating pain, increasing range of motion, increasing stability and strengthening intrinsic muscles to eliminate the cause of the pain.
